Valle - its raining and didn't bring my sobrilla

Hna Saylor gets a new selfie stick.
Hey fam... sorry if this email is all over the place I am so tired but HAPPY! Hna saylor always gets mad at me for being lazy and NOT bringing an umbrella because she always has one that explains my subject line. So this week so was great! we had divisons with bosques and I was with mi hijita HNA WOODFORD! It was really fun to be with her .. love that girl and she has become quite the splendid missionary. Love her and it was fun to see her in action; talking Spanish with confidence and seeing what a hard worker she is! May I say family; we have seen miracles on miracles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hijita Hna Woodford love her

Guess how many families we found this week.....like 7....I have lost track because we found SO MANY! They all are so willing to listen and we are just #blessed I LOVE VALLE! One of the coolest families is a reference from hna Layte... she gives us like 2 references every week no lie! So in this family the oldest son who is 21 just got part of his leg cut off because he had an infection... and he was a super good soccer player and a soccer coach and man poor guy his whole life changed but he is probs the happiest person I have ever met in my life... me and hna saylor were just like WOW he's awesome! Super cool family and they just need the gospel in their lives!  Good stuff happening aquí en fresa vill!

Honestly we are tired because we have been all over Mexico City this week at the offices and doing divisons and helping other hermanas that arn't getting along and yeah just all over.  Also BREAKING NEWS... today is the last day with SERGIO... Presidente Anaya... Pres. Naumann gets here tomorrow and we are all just freaking out a little bit! We have a meeting with him Friday so that will be cool to get to know him and his fam... it will be interesting to see if his wife speaks Spanish!

Also all is well with our other investigators... we are just trying to help marry them all so they can get baptized! Jeny, Silvia. Armando... y mas!

We had to make a sign for one of the elders investigators
so she could propose and get married to get baptized

I know this letter is lame but I just don't know what else happened this week... hmmm today we went to the tianguis and that is always fun... we worked on our bargaining so yeah!

Lately I have been reading a lot of conference talks because we just got the liahona like a week ago and today I read Elder Eyrings about the holy ghost and I just LOVE THAT TALK! It makes me less nervous for the future because as you all know I am not looking forward to leaving the mission life but I know it will be good for me.  His talk just really helped me know that I will be okay and that the answers I need will come because I just don't know what I am going to do with my future but HEY its all good!

Something I do that Hna saylor always rolls her eyes at haha is that when people ask me how long I have in the mish I tell them ahh just a little bit more than a year because I have when people tell me ay hna casi se va a su casa va a ser trunky (yes they say trunky here) and so I don't tell them how much time I have... so fam please lets not talk about time okay! Sorry if none of this makes sense but HEY I will send some pics! les quiero muchsímo!

hna Heywood

also shout out to maddie her teacher is totes the husband to one of my teachers from the CCM! small world fun!

This week we celebrated medio navidad... entonces feliz medio navidad!
We bought some cool Mexico jerseys for $10 #killenit!

Valle - Hush My Child

Hey there homies... if you are wondering what my subject is I shall explian! Okay so yesterday as it being fathers day and all (FELIZ DÍA DEL PADRE DAVID) after we said the closing prayer in sacrament the sec of the ward gets up and was like, "Hey we have a special treat for all of you fathers out there and then the bishop's wife gets up and sings an American song from Piano Guys in the chapel after the closing prayer and then people started clapping! The look on Hna Saylors face said it all APOSTASÌA.  Everyone loved it except for all of the ex missionaries y nosotros out there we were all like OH NO! so yeah you guys should listen to it and then you will know what went down in barrio Valle for fathers day! jaja

This week was FAB! Umm lets talk about #milagros so a goal in the mish is to always have 15 familias in teaching which is super hard but this week we found two more families to teach so we are pumped.  They are like families of 6 so HOLLA! Also we are seeing miracles with Silvia and Armondo... his ex-wife but still wife because he isn't divorced yet is willing to see him and talk about it to have a good clean divorce!  So we are super happy! And I must tell you about Jeny she is are little miracle!

She was in teaching with the hnas before and then she went on Vacation and then she got back and now she is doing awesome and is getting ready to be baptized the end of this month. Yesterday we went to the CV and it was a really spiritual experience and she was like bawling the whole time and it was so good. Elder Lines, the CV director from Gila Valley gave us the tour and guess what he know the original Dave Heywood.  I think he was his stake pres or something so that is cool and he loves me for it and hugs me and I am like hey that is not allowed! hah but yeah Jeny is doing great... she just has to decide if she is gonna marry her boyfriend or not right now he doesn't live with her but he was before.  Literally, I am going to be a married MASTER! Sometimes we feel like lawyers here divorcing and marring people.

Also this week I went to Izcalli it was fun to be there with Hna Glauser! I got to see familia Peña who lives above the hnas!  I got hard core gastritis when I was there so that was fun... it just so happened that the district leaders of the hnas in Izcalli where helping us with a cita so after they gave me a blessing. and yeah all good things.

Oh also this week we had our last Devo with Pres Anaya he leaves in two weeks :( it was really good and we just had a testimony meeting with our zone and me and Hna Saylor brought the zone funfetti cake so it was good. So because so much happened this week I was sad I didnt get to see Maddie in the temple... our communication wasn't great and we had to do divisons on Wednesday so I couldn't get to the temple... its like and hour and a half away from my area. But hey miracles happen once in a while when you believe... we could see each other maybe a diff day.  It was a fab week and I am super happy and tonight we are gonna do a fhe with Silvia and her fam and I think she may have invited the WHOLE WARD TO HER HOUSE! haha she is a very sociable person I just love her.

Tell marie congrats for me. I am pumped she is getting her exaltaion... whos next... luke jared.. okay lets be real, Chris is gonna beat all of us!  Happy fathers day also to Parker and Aaron; way to be dads! Katie a hna from our ward sent you some pics of you FB did you get them ... I think it was through chat or something because mom doesnt have FB... you should respond to her... she is my home girl!  I love you all so so so much! Have a great week and honestly the church is true so don't ever get lazy on the little things in life like praying, reading the scrips, going to church because it is not worth it to loose the small but amazing blessings from obedience! salé?  Peace and love to all

con amor,

hermanita heywood

Valle - Voy a vivir voy a Bailar

Sorry my subject is that because we have been hearing that song everywhere we go today! But hey how is everyone doing up there in AMERICA! Life is so good here in mexi... in las americas... or valle! So this week was kinda crazy because we had divisons with Moctezuma and its like an hour and a half away from our area... it was fun to be there. I got to see Nacho and he is doing good! and i got to see the Galicia's so that was fun to see them and yeah fun stuff. Funny story ... coming back from divisons we were just gonna meet up in a metro station and the metro was having MAJOR COMPLICATIONS and it took us 2 and a half hours to get back to our area... #mexicocityprobs jaja we were dying because in the metro personal space does not exist entonces fun stuff being smashed between a bunch on men with my stuff for divisons

Well life is good here in my new area... the ward is AWESOME they acutally give us refrences and help us and yeah its great I feel #blessed to be here. our investigators are doing good. Silvia is literally the cutest thing ever and is basically a member she just needs to get married and we are working on it. It was funny.. this morning she called and she was like hnas why wasn't so and so not there yesterday in church should we go visit them and so and so are they sick should i help them with anything.... future relief society pres right there! And her husband was being dumb last week and didn't want to listen to us because he is frustrated about not being able to get divorced so he can get married to Silvia but this week he was doing a lot better and is on board again to get baptized! yay They are a good family... funny story... the other day when we were waiting for them out side of their house a bunch of 12 year olds... ok more like 16 year olds came up to us and invited us to their party and we were like ummm sorry somos las misioneras.. no podemos... tenemos citas... um perdon... haha it was very awkward because we are just white girls in Mexico and 16 year olds want us to come to the their party... hna saylor was like WOW MY FIRST TIME TO EVER BE INVITED TO A PARTY! hah Silvia thought that was pretty funny.

Also Beto is doing good and his wife is actually really open to learning out everything... when I was teaching  him in izcalli he made it sound like his wife hated everything that had to do with religion but she is actually really cool! Also we were fasting with a recent convert this week to see if he should go on a mission and that was a really cool experience and he seems pretty animated and a little less worried about leaving everything behind for a mission. Also we are just looking for more and more new people to teach and help! not much else to say so yeah life is good.  how are things in Jackson and AZ and Idaho? Dad i am glad you gave me a little bit of info about the Tonys and also it is crazy to think that maddie is in Mexico city... the only thing is idk if i will be able to see her now... I now live in the edge of the mission.. the area furthest from the temple but hopefully we will find a way to see each other! I guis it is cool to know that she has now been to my mission! #MMEpride and haha okay to clear things up hermanita saylor is from Laramie or however you spell it not Lander lol! But yeah that is all ... also on sunday they told me I had to speak when I showed up to church so that was fun but there wasn't a ton of time so I just introduced myself and shared my testimony and experience of how I received my testimony of the Book of Mormon  so yeah good stuff!!! Well love you all so mucho have a great week and tell all of the fam hi for me!

con amor,
hna heywood

Valle - Milagros #blessed

Dear Fam!

okay okay okay first of all... I LOVE VALLE Y HNA SAYLOR!

This week was so great! It was full of lots of meetings and going to the offices but all good things. Some how we made time to go and find a lot of really cool people. So to describe my new area... it is super fresa (chilango talk para Parker) super nice and kind rich... though if you saw all the houses that are here; in the states you would think ayyy ghetto or sketchy but here its like ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh dang this place is nice. The ward is AMAZING! I have never seen a ward so converted to the gospel everyone here shares the gospel and everyone is always bringing friends to church so it awesome! For example this week we actually got references from the members when we asked them ... that doesn't happen here in other areas... its usually references of menos activos so yeah bit of a change. The ward is about 100 people or maybe more and so for me that is like massive because I have been in a ward of 35 for the last six months. And Hna Saylor is quite the character! haha She is from Wyoming ... Lander or something and is a runner she loves to run, so we run in a park by our house in the morning. She is always happy and she basically has plans of saving the world.  She is really into non profit stuff and has traveled the world! She also loves Jimmy Fallon and Broadway so we get along really really well!  We just laugh most of the time!

Where I live:

Okay now about the people!!!

There is an amazing family here that the hnas have been teaching for a while... the son got baptized a month ago and yesterday he passed the sacrament and bore his testimony of how he wants to go on a mission! Super awesome and his mom is amazing her name is Silvia... I guess people named Silvia just are amazing in general! She loves everything about the church and wants to be baptized so badly BUT you remember how when I was in Ecatepec like 6 months ago and how EVERYONE needs to get married welll yeah that's the problem. Silvia wants it but her husband is still married to another women and he needs to get divorced and married to Silvia but his wife doesn't want to get divorced even though she has several children with several men... so that is the prob.. he also wants the church but we are stuck in that issue right now!  Sylvia is awesome and pays tithing and feeds the missionaries, she just needs to be baptized and she was telling us she might kick her husband out so she can be baptized... but we ague and tell her, "No hna families are forever lets work this out! "
#Selfie

Then okay biggest miracle EVER! So idk if you all remember my life in Izcalli but we taught this man named BETO well he had a laundromat and we would teach him there and he lived in Valle so the hnas in Valle would tell us if he went to church... well after I left he kinda stopped going BUT yesterday he walked into the capilla and I was like HERMANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he was like no manches hna que haces aquí and he came fasting because he is ready for the gospel in his life. So he stayed for all of church and we went and visited him last night and we also taught his wife and daughter and they said they are willing to learn and see what is like! We were soooo happy and I was soooo happy so see him again! The nice thing is Beto and I are already buds so I was like hno ya sabe es su tiempo and he was like yes hna asi es sop yayyyyy!

Hna Saylor eating a huarache today  ahh so good soo good!

Consejo de ĺideres May 2016

There is a lot of good things going on here!!! I love it and there is SO MUCH WORK and the members are super cool here and I think one fb messaged pics to Katies FB because I don't think you or dad have FB!

All is well and I will send pics in a sec okay ...oh and I am going to Moctezuma this week yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well love you all so so mucho! Have a good week

Valle - LAS AMERICAS

Dear fam!

Well sounds like everyone is doing good and happy! Shout out to Maddie for giving her farewell talk... hopefully I will see her in a couple weeks. I have some stuff for her when I see her! but okay I shall answer your questions now...

Yes I am not in Carrera anymore... its weird but I am excited... I am in Las Americas... my area is called Valle and it is SOOO NICE!! It is one of the best and richest wards in all of the mission and I feel like I am in the states.,.. so I am not sure how I feel about that. I kinda miss the ghetto! But my comp is Hna Saylor from Wyoming she is the one of the funniest people and loves to talk so I am sure we will get along just great.

I knew I was getting transferred on Wednesday because hna Mortenson got a call that night and they told her she would be training an hna that is waiting for her visa to go to Texas so luckily I was emotionally prepared and I still cried to leave but not as much and I was happy I had time to say good bye to everyone!
Dana is somewhere in the area shaded in Red (Ecatepec)

The graffiti here is actually cool and not just te amo jeni haha always in Carrera

Me and Hna Saylor

Hey Maddie you see that hill... that is where you are going to be... we are gonna be SO CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our house... we live behind the estetica
Valle is cool though the hnas always have a ton of success here its like a gold mine because even though the people aren't as humble here... the ward is AWESOME and they help like crazy! They said people are always asking when they can come with the missionaries on citas. So that will be fun! I was sad to leave but I think it will be good for me to have a change and to get to know the people out here. I am in Ecatepec again... Izcalli is in my zone and we get to do divisiones with them so I am excited to go and see the people! But yeah the taxi today cost $120 pèsos... but luckily another elder from my zone had transfers so we went to together and split it 50/50! It is strange to be out here in the middle of nowhere again! If you are wondering where I am ... I am almost to Pachuca... like almost to the pyramids.  All I ever hear about this area is that it is awesome but not as crazy as the city!  I am excited to see what kind of crazy fun I can find here and to help the members and the ward to keep on keep on working hard en la obra misional!

Now speaking of my week in Carrera, we finally had time and someone to go with us to the top of the hill where is is super ghetto and not safe and it was so so so fun! We found a ton of people up there that hna Mortenson can teach and this one lady we found.  We helped her take her bags from the mercado up the hill so she invited us into her house gave us food and just wanted a friend I think... haha she wanted to show us her chickens her rabbit... her roosters... haha we were like wow que bonita... and then her poor 95 year old mother that was blind was just lying on her bed with no pants on and we were like ok cool this is different and her mom was just eating a bag of cheetos... so yeah good old mexico stuff. Everyone was sad I was leaving but I told them all we will be back in DEC and they all want to meet everyone and feed us so yeah pàrty in Carrera in  DEC!
The rain this week!

Goodbye Iker

Also saddest thing ever... I really didn't tell anyone I was leaving until Sunday but I think bishop knew because they sang God be With You Till We Meet Again... and then I saw hna Magda who was leading the music crying and then I started crying and then hna Mortenson who was playing the piano  was crying and we were all kinda a mess hahaha but its all good! Sorry not mucho to say but i will email next week with lots of pics and more info about my new area! love you all lots
Goodbye to Aris and Gibron
Magda, I will miss her!

The hill going home from church
One last walk home from church with everyone.

Goodbye to all the saint street art!
I hate goodbyes!

Martin Carerra - No Para La Fiesta

Hey there fam

First of all

SHOUT OUT TO PARKS AND LAUREN FOR BECOMING PARENTS!!! You make cute children... can't wait to meet that child!

Second of all... how are things with all of you ... Mexico is GREAT!! Today I bought the coolest soccer jersey, it's the Mexico and America jersey put together.  Best $100 pesos I have ever spent! haha

This week was good, we found a lot of really cool people and we had stake conference and... zone conference so double spiritual wammy, am I right?

It was sad because it is pres last zone conference because he goes home the 28th of June :( but it was a really good conference!

Some of the cool people we found this week we couldn't really go to the follow up cita because we were sick:( but its okay we will find them this week. One is named Manuel and he is from Spain... Enadina... Naomi's mom works in his cocina and we gave him a book of Mormon! He is really cool and really wants to learn and his food is really good... he gave us this Spanish food like they make in Spain.  Spanish paella and it had sea shells in it and my first bit was crunchy and I was like what is this!!!! ahah but it was good and we keep our clam shells!
Spanish paella

With the shells
Also things are coming along with Georgina... she just needs to understand a little bit betta!

Also MIRACLE we found Rogelio and he was like hnas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and so we finally taught him the commandments and when we were reading about dia de reposo... Sabbath day.. he was like hnas how can I keep this commandment... because he works on Sundays and we were like... ahhhh yes Rogelio!  So we all three fasted to help him find a solucion and he is like hnas if I need to find a new job I will because I want to follow God no matter what is takes and we were just like YESSSS! so tomorrow we are gonna go see how it went!

Also pres gave the most touching talk at stake conference about how hard missionary work is and how much he loves us for giving up everything to help others and follow Christ and I was bawling and everyone was crying and man I am gonna miss them so much!!!

Also I hit a low point... don't worry mom I am fine... I just had to do some test to check if all my parasites are gone and they made me pee in a cup at home and then put it in a syringe and then poop in a cup and I had to do some blood work and take everything myself on the public transport.  Being in public transport in the morning is bad here because there are so many people and I was like ahhh please don't break and spill all over my bag ahaha...low point....carrying my pee and poo all over Mexico City, but its all good and didn't break!!!! I am happy and that is all that matters right!!!!

Next week is transfers so I might be writing from a diff place but all is well and I love you all so much!!!!

Martin Carrera - Hey, Hey, Hey Party in the USA

So hello familia it was a pleasure talking to you all yesterday... looks like you are all good and nothing much has changed just Katie's hair (I love it kt)! it really was fun to see you all... but not gonna lie it kinda freaked me out... I am not ready at all to live in the real world... I like my little missionary world... but its okay I have a lot of time so yay!

Okay so this week was literally CRAZY!

First of all sadness, Orfe broke up with us she is getting baptized in the christian church in front of our house and we were all crying including her because SHE KNOWS THE CHURCH IS TRUE! heart breaking right... so we were just like hermana we love you and we want you to be with us in the kingdom of god so please PLEASE just read the book of Mormon and get over your fear. She is getting baptized there because it is the easiest route for her... less commitment #APOSTASÍA

Then Felipe ... Naomi´s dad... was super wasted the other night and he was like hnas please come in and pray for me so we were like um okay super fast we can ... because we needed to get home... well se ended up saying the pray and then he was saying ahhh there is so many voices in my head... and then he was like SOY SATANAS.. and we were like ok yeah we gotta go... and we left and now he is in the hospital from alchola poisoning or something like that!!!

Then well Iker decided he should probs get baptized so he is gonna get baptized this Sunday #porfin we are pumped but he is a CRAZY CHILD!  In sacrament he was sitting next to me and took a hand full of bread and i was like ahhh crap and all the jovenes were laughing at me because they were watching from the stand and Mortenson from the piano was laughing and I was like oh my child... and then he told me he was gonna take two things of water and I said noooo you can't ahahaha! But he is really excited for his baptism.

Also sadness, Angeles got back together with her hubby and now is living in the state of Mexico and so we had to pass her referencia to the elders over there. Hopefully they will help her.

Also we had divisons this week and I went to Olivos with hna Woodard and it was fun to see her area. Also fun fact now when I eat really healthy food... like chicken and veggies I get sick... we ate it like 3 times this week and I got sick every time... dang it Mexico is throwing off my health. haha but everything was is good and we are working hard to help Georgina get baptized before I leave in June because I am pretty sure I will have cambios... also guess what do you all hear.... MADISON HEYWOOD IS COMING TO THE MEXICO MTC IN LIKE 3 WEEKS! I AM SO EXCITED I AM ASKING PRES TOMORROW IF I CAN SEE HER WHEN SHE GOES TO THE TEMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Tomorrow we get to go to the temple #YAY and so I will see pres! But yeah that is pretty much it...

Oh, funny story this week the jovenes have a camp out and they were learning how to set up a tent at church but they didn't know how so me and hna Mortenson taught them... city problems am I right! Love you all keep on being awesome and doing the running man or whatever that is!!!

con mucho amor,

hna heywood
