Valle - La semana mas PADRÍSIMO de todos

Hello familia how is everything!  lLife here is just so great and I am soooo happy!!!!

Today was sooo soo cool! We went and hiked the hill with the cross with presidente and his familia and the ZL and the other hnas from Izcalli! It was super cool and fun to get to know them better. Hna nuamann is so funny and she was helping me understand what I should do with my future life haha! She made a face book for the mish and its called mexico city east 2016-2019 or something like that but they are gonna put pics on that!!

We also had zone conference this week and it was soooo good! honestly Pres is a man with lots of knowlege and we learned about hope, faith and charity and it was all mind blowing. WE also have a new senior couple from Argentina that has been living in Sydney Australia for like their whole life and they are super  cool.

 And valle.....VALLE! I LOVE VALLE!! its the poor part of our ward and there are so many people there ready for the gospel!!  I feel like its when Alma goes with the zoramites and then the poor people are like well we can't pray and stuff and then he teaches them how and then  they get converted!  We found a cool family that listened like a year ago and want to be in the church and there is just so many people there waiting for the gospel and I feel honored to be able to open it! It is really cool and we are going to see lots of miracles there. Also things are going good in las americas, we found more new people this week and they are all really cool. WE went to the CV this week with Lilia and she is getting closer and closer to baptism she just isnt sure yet but she will be!!! Also it was really cool to have some less actives that came to church that we have been working with. WE lcried when we saw Paola come to church ... her husband isn't a member and she wants her 9 year old son to get baptized but he cant come for one more week becuase he has soccer on Sundays but thier season ends soon and we are working on her son and husband. Mauricio her husband is making us shirts for our zone because he is a graphic designer and man we just love that family. WE did a FHE with them last week and watched meet the mormons and they all loved it!!! }

But there is so many good things going on here.... cambios are next week so we will see what happens. I am pretty sure I will finish the mish here and I am so excited to work more with Valle this week! But all is welll... love you all lots besos y abrazos

Valle - I GOT BIT BY A FERRET

¡Hola familia como están... espero que estén bien y que han disfrutado sus vacaciones en estés meses!

Divisions with hna Bustamonte y Bracamonte

Noche de hogar with familia Lopez and Lilia

Our mall adventure today!

Well this week was CRAZY! There was so much going on. First off we did divisions twice this week which was fun but really a little tiring. Also we had interviews and that was kinda crazy. So you know how presidente told me I could stay till Nov 1st well so I asked him about it just to double confirm and then he was like, "Ahhh Hermana I need to tell you something. I have been counseling with the Lord a lot and now I have decided that I am not going to allow the missioneros here to go home early or extend.  I feel like it's what the Lord wants for this mission and I am really sorry because I told you it was okay. .... yeah I cried kinda a lot ... it just wasn't expected. I am sure it wasn't easy for him to tell me... I mean who wants to tell a 20 year old girl she can't extend her mission. It was tender but I am all good know and I am grateful for the revelation that Presidente receives for our mission and we had a good talk about it and I am good!! I honestly love Presidente and it was so strange to have interviews in English!

Also this week we had a meeting in Aragon (by the temple) so we had to stay the night there and haha hna Saylor poor thing broke her toe in the bath room stall because we stayed in the CV dorms and her toe was pretty black and purple so she got a blessing there and Presidente was very confused about how she broke it haha but we are doing good and she can walk on it and its looking better! ITS BECAUSE SHE GOT A BLESSING!  I keep on telling her that and she just rolls her eyes at me for being #1 fan of priesthood blessings.

Also guess what.... WE GOT PERMISSION TO OPEN UP THE DANGEROUS PART OF OUR WARD! I am so so so pumped... now we have more area... I don't know why before but presidente Anaya wouldn't let us work there but we were talking to Pres Naumann and he told us YESSSS! and we got the area book and we are really excited. Its like real Mexico there; it looks like Carrera a little bit and there are lots of people there ready to hear the gospel!

Also got bit by a ferret which was great... uhh nasty creature!

Oh funny moment of the week we asked with Silvia and Armando what we could do to help them before we left and she was like... hmmm Hermana Heywood could you please give me a foot massage real quick and I was like hmmm well I guess Jesus washed his disciples feet so I guess I can give a quick massage to our investigator... so I did it and felt very strange! haha and she told me I give really bad foot massages so there's that... sorry future husband! haha

Also Beto shared his testimony this week in sacrament and it was AWESOME!  His wife cried and hna Saylor cried and I kinda used up all my tears for the week in interviews so I didn't cry but I felt like a proud mom even though he is 59 and I am 20. Its just so cool to see investigators share their testimonies!! But yeah life is so so good!! Oh also pres changed the rules so now we have our district meeting every Monday and the church we were meeting at was out of the mission so we can't have it there but he gave us permission to do it on a roof in one of the elders areas so that is what those pics are. Also the other pictures are us in public transportation going to everything this week yay! Love you all, have a great week!! I know this church is the true church of Christ!!

con amor,
hna Heywood

Valle - Shout Out!

Dear fam!

Well first of all shout out to Juan Carlos... I shall tell you all the story... so yesterday when we got to church... the whole church was flooded... a pipe broke and there was at least, AT LEAST 3 inches of water! So yeah we walked in got the broom and mops and sqwige (idk how to spell that) and we went to work getting the water out of the church so we could have our services. Anyway so Juan Carlos saw us on the street the other day and was like, "hey hnas I want to go to church with you guys" (we have talked to him before his whole fam is members) so he came to church and got to work and helped A TON! So yeah we started sacrament like 45 mins late and we participated in the sacrament and then had one small talk and then we all went back to work getting the water out! But before Bishop ended the services he was like I would just like to thank Hno Juan Carlos for all your hard work and service to help us get the church dry and then every man in the whole ward went up to get to know him and yeah #MAJORFELLOWSHIPPING it was cool and Juan Carlos was like hnas i am bringing my family next week to church! So yeah more people to teach.

Honestly we are so busy... just running around this place helping all these people come unto Christ and you know all that good missionary stuff!

I would like to tell you about a really cool part member family we have been teaching. Their names are Paola (miembro) and Mauricio. She has been a member almost her whole life and went in active when she was 18 because she wanted to live her life. Well then she had kids and was like oh wait I should probs go to church... so she goes every now and then but doesn't have a testimony. Well her husband is AWESOME... but said he will not be a member of this church until he knows its completely true. Well we went with a cool couple in our ward yesterday to be their fellowshipers or however that is in English and it was AWESOME!!! The spirit was really strong and they are willing to give the church a try. They also have a 9 year old little boy that is now baptized and then a 5 year old and a 1 year old little girl . Honestly they are a super cool family and would be awesome members. Mauricio is a graphic designer that specializes in t shirts so we got him to make us some shirts for our zone. We are super excited that we found them good friends in church and they want to go and see if this church is what their family needs. The only thing is their child plays soccer every Sunday at 9 and we have church at 8 but they only have 4 more games and then they promised they will be at church because they want to know! It was super cool and familia Lopez  are their new friends are sooo cool! They are both ex missionaries and they are #goals ... we love them and they have two super cute little kids. WE are doing a FHE with them tonight and one of our investigators Lilia so hopefully that goes well!! Life is super good and crazy... we did divsions with hna Woodard and her comp this week and it was fun to be with her and catch up and make are future plans together hopefully people are down for a Tijuana temple trip in Dec!  This week we will have a lot going on and we have divisions twice so ahhh but it will be good!!!!!  I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!!!! love you all lots

Valle - TURN DOWN FOR WHAT

Why hello there fam bam! How goes everything in good old burning hot Arizona?

Us on divisions!
Sounds like life up there has been interesting with some fun adventures. Well as you all know life here in México is FABULOUS! This week was yet again full of miracles and  I couldn't be happier! First of all we had divisions and it was kind of a mess because the hnas got here 2 hours late but that is okay it was all good and we had lots of good lessons with our peeps here in las Americas. It was fun to eat with four hnas in the comida and to come home and have funny storys to tell to the other hnas.

We have divisons this week with the other hnas so it will be just great.

Okay this week was also EFY/ youth conference here in our stake. I guess it was more like a youth conference and it was cool because we got to help on Saturday. All the youth came with the missionaries and we visited less active members. So I went with 3 young women to a  cita and it was so good. They were so cute and it was super spiritual and the hna was crying we visited and the jovens and I was glad they liked it so much! It was cool because yesterday all the youth shared their testimonies in sacrament and I guess that act made a huge impact on all of them.  We saw major miracles all the less actives that were visited CAME TO CHURCH! Man there is such a strong power in the youth here.

So funny story when I was there in the stake center when it was ending I accidentally peed on my skirt (don't ask how just accept it) and tried to wash it out and man oh man had to ride home in a combi (public transportation that looks like a rapist car) with my wet skirt. Ya know classic me moment and hna saylor was like oh my hna why do such weird things happen to you.... so that was fun and now hna saylor just makes fun of me.

Also Beto and Gabi are doing AMAZING! Honestly the first time we went with Gabi and her hubbie Beto she didn't want ANYTHING! But when she came to church last week she loved it and came again this week and LOVED IT! And we went last night and she was crying and saying hnas I didn't want anything to do with your church but...... I know its what I need and what God wants me to do. And they want us to come and teach their 16 year old daughter too because I guess she is a little bit rebellious.  We are so happy and they will be getting baptized soon... just need to get married 1st!

This is what happens when the hair stylist next
door listens to her non spiritual music!!

Also funny story of the week... so we live right behind the hair salon in our little apt.  It has been closed since I got here... but now its been re opened with a new owner... and while we were studying they started to play music and it was the classic mexi banda that all of Mexico listens to and then we hear.... TURN DOWN FOR WHAT! we literally were dying and hna Saylor being ever so dramatic was like laugh-crying. Good thing it was just during our Spanish study time because the spirit was deff gone after that song ahaha!

Also miracle: Vane (Silvia and Armando's daughter) who doesn't like the church went to the 1st day of youth conference and loved it!!! like LOVED IT!! She was showing us a ton of pics and was super happy... but then she got sick and couldn't go the other days :( but she said she will now listen to us when we come to her house so yayyy! Lots of good things going here. Lots of people are getting closer and closer to baptism and its has been amazing to see their process to change. I LOVE THIS GOSPEL AND I KNOW THE CHURCH IS TRUE! I think you all should take advantage to share the gospel with our neighborhood since not many on our block our members because everyone needs the gospel in their lives!!
Us with Vane today. we went with her and made some shakes
because we are trying to get her to listen to us more!

Don't judge....this is 7 in the morning, enjoying a strawberry.
Well love you all so so much!
con amor

#blessed #milagros #ILOVEMEXICO

Elder Oaks!

Dear Fam!

Well sounds like you are all doing good even though the world is falling apart! Sounds like some bad stuff is going down in the U.S. and around the world...everyone just needs the gospel in their lives! As for me, well, life is so good here!

Um this week was just great and we saw lots of miracles as always and it was just a great week! First of all you all remember Beto right (#1homie) well his wife has been listening to us for a little bit now and didn't want ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CHURCH... but she came on Sunday and LOVED IT! When we walked in and saw her there sitting with Beto we freaked out and hna Saylor cried ahah it was that good! Plus, she said she is coming next week too!!!!

Also Claudia and Ricardo and their two sons all accepted fecha yayyy the only thing is they want to get baptized Oct 1st because that is when the youngest son will turn 8. We will help them realize they should do it faster and then Ricardo can baptize his son... but we are just happy they want it so much. They are definitely people that are ready for the gospel.  They just love everything we teach them and their kids love it even more. The little boy Hasiel last night gave the first pray and asked for a cow and a dog in his prayer probs the cutest thing I have ever heard!!

Also we are starting divisons this week... now the hnas are all coming to our area and spend a whole day here! We now have four beds in the house and lots of desks and yeah fun stuff! But not much else happened. We had another meeting with Pres. and I just love him and sis Neumann they are the best and I am so glad I can learn from them for a little bit of time!

love you all so so so mucho!!!
con mucho amor
hna Heywood

Oh and also....This is from Pres!!! Ahh I love him I didn't even tell him I wanted to extend but he is just so spiritual he already knows and probs because everyone told him hahaha!!! We have interviews this Wednesday!

"Gracias Hermana Heywood. It is good to hear that things are going well. You briefly hinted this week that you may consider extending your mission. We can talk more about this during our interview. I am glad that you have felt joy in your mission enough to want to continúe this great work. You could extend until November 1st if you wanted. Just think about it some more and I promise that the Lord will speak to your heart. In the end, it is your decisión.

You are a great Hermana. You have a great spirit about you and I know that you will accomplish great things in your life, school, etc. I am glad that I get to be your mission president for a few months.

Tenga una buenisima semana
Presidente Naumann

Valle - Todo Bien

Hey there fam bam!

How goes it in AZ! I hope that everyone is doing well and you are all enjoying the beautiful hot weather in good old Gilbert! Well we had another WONDERFUL week here in Ecatepec. LOTS OF WORK!

For starters after I logged off last week we got caught in the rain as always but we found Ziara and she accepted a fecha para baustimo so yay! She is super cute 18.... her mom got baptized right before I got to this area. And then we had zone conference in Estrella so that was fun to see the old zone... hna Mortenson is doing awesome! She looked super happy and guess who got baptized... Orfe! That makes me super happy! Zone conference was just so great... Presidente Naumann blew everyones mind again and man it was just a good conference. His family was there. His two kids are cute and they both bore their testimonies in spanish #champs

The week was just full of lots of work! We went to the CV yesterday with Silvia and Armando and Vane. It was good and their hijita was like a little happy to be there... she doesn't like to listen to us... just a little bit rebellious or however you spell that! and it was awesome we went with familia Guerrero and they were awesome and instant friends with Sil y Armando and it was just great! ummmm I am trying to think what else happened OH

Yesterday we went to Valle ... so our ward used to have elders also but now it doesn't so we can't really work in their area because its far and we have to take a metro bus thing but a less active asked us to visit her and her family because she wants to baptize her 9 year old son. Anyways last time we went our cita was TERRIBLE because the member that came with us was arguing with her husband about doctrine stuff and the we were there for like two hours because they were arguing ... anyways he didn't come with us this time and the spirit was SO STRONG! Her husband has listened to the missionaries for 14 years and yesterday was like awesome and we just taught the basic about the trinity and he just loved it and we will see if they are gonna progress but that got us really excited. Also this joven named Carlos who just barely hit a year as a member and we have been trying to help him get on a mish and last night he told us he wanted to and asked his mom if she would give him her blessing and she said no and he said well okay that doesn't matter to me I am gonna go so YAY we are excited for him. So as you can see good things going!

Oh also funny story so we didn't have service on the phone Saturday night at all! And with pres being new and all we didn't know how we was gonna do cambios... well funny story they did them Saturday night and we had NO IDEA! On Sunday morning when we were in a car of a member on the way to church the hnas called us from Moctezuma to see if we knew what was going on with the rest of the hnas for cambios and we were like WHHHATTTTT!  Ha yeah we totally missed all the cambio news but hey we stayed together we  are the only ones really that stayed together, a ton of people had changes!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yeah life is good the mish is GREAT... still have to ask pres to extend... we have interviews  in like two weeks so we will see what he says!

Love you all!!! Have a great week!!

love hna heywood

Today an hna taught us how to make flan!!!!  So I will make you all some when I get home
#soGOOD so good!

Shout out to Maddie Heywood for leaving her extra pesos and a note for me at the temple! I was sad I didn't get to see her but I still love her!

Valle - LET FREEDOM RING #Merica

Okay as I was saying hey there fam bam how goes it??

Presidente Naumann is so so so amazing. luckily we had a meeting with him on Friday and man oh man like he is a whole different level. I was like crying within the first 5 minutes when he shared his testimony and then my mind was blown by the simple doctrine he taught us like wow we are so blessed to be learning from him! He is just what our mission needs. On Wednesday we have zone conference so that way everyone can meet him! Me and hna Saylor are really excited to learn more from him! And his wife is super cool she is from Finland and has an accent in English.  They met on their mission when they both served in Florida. She knows a lot of Spanish but doesn't speak fluid yet. WE felt bad for her because with our meeting with them she looked kinda lost its just a lot of Spanish ya know. Then after the big meeting; us and hna Woodard and Houghton that are also coordinadoras had some questions for him about rules for us sisters in the field because we had some different rules for our safety and man it was fun we did it in English and I am pumped to see what him and his wife do to the mission. They are power houses especially when hna Nuamann can talk. so I already love them.. of course I miss the Anayas but I think the Naumanns are what we need right now as missionaries.

He taught us some cool doctrine about receiving answers... he used the bro of Jared story and talked about how the lord responds to the three different questions the brother of Jared has and how for the light he gave him a direct and clear answer and to get to the promised land he told him not to worry and about the light he told him he needed to find a way and then he would help him. and pres focused on how the lord wants us to become like him so sometimes he doesn't give us an answer because he wants to see what we choose. We know that our heavenly father had a lot of decisions to make in order to become what he is ... and if we are to become like him we also are to make decisions when he gives us the chance too. MIND BLOWN it really helped me because I have been thinking a lot about what I want to study and I know the lord knows that hey you need to make the decision.. so yeah it will help me and I am grateful and from now on I will always be grateful for when the lord lets me choose even though its easier to follow a clear answer from him... sorry lots of typos... pero ya ni modo!

Also this week in the work it was good. There is lots of things to be done here... Jeny is no longer moving to Merida so now we are just helping her to decide what she is gonna do about her lame boyfriend! Also Pati we just started teaching her and her fam and last week she had a lot of concerns about the virgen and was sad we don't worship her... so we just told her give her praying to god a week and see what happens... well well well she was like HERMANAS DIOS ES MUCHO MEJOR DE LA VIRGEN HE VISTO MILAGROS!  We were like YES haha she was like I have always asked and asked and asked the virgen and she never does anything and the day I start asking god all these miracles started to happen! See why life is good!  I  love it here and I shall be asking pres Neumann soon about extending! But just know that I love you all and I know that the leaders of this church are truly called of god!

love dana!!!
ps be careful with the moose and the best pic award goes to Taylor and Chris's spill... also Brooke and Jared's was pretty good! duces

Yesterday we were waiting for an Hna to take us home so we took pics with her daughter and the other ninas!  So cute!

We had to sleep in the dorms Thursday night because the meeting was early and it takes 2 hours to get to the temple on the metro in the morning. anyway we found gems and we were a bit bored so this is what happened!

Zone

My Agenda today!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY FROM ZONA ECATEPEC! #godblesstheUSA
